DUNROBIN CASTLE

Dunrobin Castle stands one mile north of Golspie and north of Inverness and the Moray Firth along the A9 to Wick.It is the seat of the Earls and Dukes of Sutherland, and is now lived in by Elizabeth, Countess of Sutherland. The castle has 189 rooms, and boasts antediluvian views over the North Sea. The landscaped gardens by Sir Charles Berry separate the castle from the sea, and the whole scene has a raw and primeval feel.
